Maximising your Wedding Day

So this section of “The Bride Guide” is all about making the most of your wedding day!

It’s lots of little ideas that when stacked up can make it even more amazing that you could imagine!  Maximising all opportunities is what I’m all about.

No question at all there is a lot of things to consider.  More importantly, it’s VITAL that you get to spend time with your friends and family.  Most of all, I want to do all I can so that you get quality time with your best friend and new husband or wife!

Not everything will work for you of course:  every wedding day is different and therefore your needs and ideas will be shaped by that.  But equally anything I can do to make everything that little bit more fun, I will!

Be PROUDLY you!

Your wedding day is one of the biggest and most important days of your life. Naturally, you want to look your best and feel truly amazing.

It is also the chance for you to be unashamedly you. Not worrying about what other people think, not being self conscious about things you can’t control, and most importantly letting your hair down and loving who you are.

Social Media & Guest Photos

So, let’s be honest, we are definitely in the age of social media. Virtually our every move is shown on facebook or instagram, and to be honest we as photographers are as guilty as anyone else.

What does matter however, and something I think you should consider, is your personal feelings on what role, if any, social media should play in your wedding.

Church Weddings & Vicars

If you’re having a church wedding, there are a few extra things to think about asking the Vicar well in advance. This is because rules within churches can differ massively from venue weddings.

Not only does every church have different rules, each Vicar has different rules as well. It is not unknown for different Vicar’s that officiate at the same church to have completely different thinking and guidelines for their services.

Cutting the Cake

Cutting the Cake is one of the pinnacle moments in your day.  This is why I make such efforts to make it so much fun and involve all your guests in this moment.

Looking Great

So one question I get asked a lot is how can I look my best in the photos?

The most important answer here is to be yourself and feel relaxed: this way not only will the photos look natural and not over-posed but you’ll also recognise yourself as being yourself and not feeling they look awkward.

Using and loving your Bouquet

Your bridal bouquet is a wonderful way of expressing who you are and showing the colours and flowers you love the most. Throwing the Bridal Bouquet is a wedding tradition that goes back quite a long way but one that many brides are a little scared of.

Time Together and Sunset Escapes!

So, a lot of you are probably looking at that title and wonder what I mean by escaping?  “Why would we want to escape?”  You’re probably also thinking “of course we’ll have time together, it’s our wedding!”  Here’s why!

Speeches

Speeches are one of those special times in a wedding day: it gives a select few people a chance to say some very meaningful and heartfelt words about the day and what it means to them. I’ve also been asked more than a few times for my opinions on a few things about them, and that’s why this page exists!

Rain on your wedding day - and umbrellas!

There is always this one panicked thought in the head of most of the couples that I speak with about their wedding day. “What if it rains?

I’ll tell you now it’s actually not the end of the world, and actually I think that it’s a good thing.

So hopefully there is something useful tops and tricks here and you’ve gained a little inspiration along the way!  If there is something else you’d like to know about that I’ve not already covered please let me know!
